6 Best Coffee Places in Texas
As a college student, I have quite a bit of caffeinated fuel while pulling all-nighters. I also like to enjoy a good cup of coffee brewed locally. Here are 5 of the best coffee shops that I have been to in the Denton and Houston areas.
Big Mike's Coffee Shop
Many moons ago, Big Mike's Coffee shop was the place to stay up all night to write term papers. The shop used to stay open 24 hours until the hours changed to midnight. Located on Fry street it is conveniently located right next to the University of North Texas' campus. My favorite drink was The Big Mike which was a blend of coffee, coconut milk and coffee.
Naranja Cafe
Naranja Cafe is a quaint little coffee and boba shop situated on Avenue C. The coffee shop doubles as a cellphone accessory store, so you can get gadgets and coffee with boba.
West Oak Coffee Bar
West Oak Coffee Bar is a great place to grab brunch with a great cup of coffee. Before it was discontinued, I enjoyed the gazpacho as a light lunch with a hearty cup of coffee.
Banh Mi Houston
The first time I went to Banh Mi it was my birthday. I had the sweet sticky buns with pork, the pork sandwich and Vietnamese iced coffee. As a birthday treat, the shop owner let me sample a new drink that wasn't on the menu yet.
Aloy Aloy
Aloy Aloy is a new Thai resturant located in Spring, Texas. My favorite dishes are the fried calamari and the fried tofu. These dishes are technically appetizers, but I like simple meals under $10.
Crave
Crave is a cupcake bakery in The Woodlands, Texas. They have a variety of decorative cupcakes like salted caramel cupcake with a caramel center and strawberry cupcake with a mermaid topper and strawberry pieces throughout. Theiced coffee is a nice touch to a tasty bakery treat.
